Hope someone is able to give a hand. I have never OC a system before but want to get alittle more out of my hardware. Specs are:

MB: Asus M4A79T Deluxe
CPU: AMD Phenom II x3 720 BE
Mem: Kingston HyperX 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit
HD: 1 TB Seagate Baracuda 7200rpm
OS: Vista 64Bit
GC: Nvidia Geforce GTX 285
SC: Auzentech X-Fi Prelude 7.1
CPU Heatsink is a ZALMAN CNPS9700

I want to OC the CPU and the Memory. everything is stock now, and am running 9-9-9-27 memory and CPU speed is 2.81 GHz. How much can I safely crank it up. =) remember I'm a novice when it come to OC so please bare with me thx again. And is there anything else I can do with this system to speed it up with what I have? I will be adding 4 more gig of ram next week as well.

More RAM won't speed up your computer unless you are using software that can take advantage of it. For gaming 4GB is plenty.

Also, if you're adding more sticks of RAM, i'm assuming u're adding 2 more 2GB sticks, then that'll affect your OC as well. So, the highest OC you acheive right now might not, and probably won't be from my previous experiences, be stable after you add more RAM modules. You could be lucky though, you never know.

This rig is strickly for gaming. So if I wont get anything from adding 4 more gigs, I wont add any right now. Can youi guys give me a hand doing a OC for the 4 gigs and the CPU? Thx
