I just put together my new cpu,
E6400, Asus P5N-e SLi 650i
corsair ddr 800mhz XMS2 5-5-5-12

I am hitting a brick wall at 2.8ghz.

Any help would be great.

I have the same board so ill tell you what I did. Set vcore to 1.4, vcore offset +.1 , ram @ 2.078 , and nbrig to like 1.55V. I'm running my ram synced and my fsb right now is 1820 on an E6300. That vcore is also pretty high but once you find a point where you are satisfied, you can set it lower until it isnt stable anymore.

Yeah, I have got mine sitting at 3.2ghz now. FSB at 1600 which is perfect for my ram running at 800mhz.

Upped the voltage on the Cpu to 1.39, put the volts on the ram up a touch, and also the northbridge.

I installed a fan on the heatsink and a small heatsink and fan for the chipset that has nothing on it.

Atm it is keeping nice and cool, and runs prime 95 no probs, had it going for 6 hours with no errors. The heat also seems to not be a problem. So far when playing games which is all i do it hasn't gone past 52. At idle it sits around 33-36 depending on the room temperature.

I had my E6300 at 1800 FSB for awhile yesterday but the temps were 55-65 running orthos so I lowered the FSB and voltage quite a bit. I've heard people say coretemp isnt really that accurate because it tells me 55idle at 3.4ghz and when i go into the bios it says 42idle. So who knows? I have a scythe ninja with AS5 on it and i know i didnt mess up installing it. My room stays pretty warm though but im thinking my temps are around 48 idle overclocked.
