I'm getting an h100 in a few days and hoping to see if I can OC it to 5 Ghz

currently I'm running my 8320 at 4.5 GHz w/ 1.44-1.488 volts, been stable for months.

my rig will be as follows after christmas and wondering if anyone can chime in on tips/voltages/ and such for a possible 5ghz attempt.

RIG:

CPU = AMD FX-8320 CPU @ 4.5 GHz (Current)

GPU = EVGA Ge-Force 760 GTX @ 1170 MHz core clock (thats just the base clock OC, w/ boost goes to 1333mhz) / 7008 MHz mem clock

RAM = 8 GB Corsair Vengeance pro series DDR3 1600 Mhz

HDD= 1TB WD HDD

MOBO = Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 mobo

cpu cooler = H100 (WILL BE - push pull through the two 200mm fans on top of case)

case = NZXT Phantom (black)

PSU = 650W antec earthwatts

Solution
Asrock 990FX Extreme 9 \ FX8350 \ 5.1GHZ. \ 1.384 VOLTS

thanks for the reply

with mys soon to be had cooling setup (the h100)..vs my current cooling (h60), how much do you thikn the temps will drop , provided that I keep the 4.5 GHz OC I have currently been running.

I play BF4 at ultra settings and after an hour's worth of paly or so the temps max out around 58 degrees. I;m curious by how far my temps will drop

also, im only using some cheap thermal paste. I'm also getting some arctic silver 5 so factor that into your decision 😀 ?
