OC I7 930 final questions

Hi,
i now put my multiplier to 21x
QPI x36
uncore x16
BCLK 166 (got 3.5 mhz)
(got a perfect 1333 MHZ for ram freq)
core features at:
intel turbo boost: disabled
cpu enhanced halt: disabled
c3/c6/c7 state support: disabled
cpu thermal monitor: disabled
cpu EIST function: disabled
Bi-Directional PROCHOT : disabled
CPU multi threading: enabled

Voltage:
cpu vcore: 1.275
QPI/VTT Voltage 1.195
CPU PLL 1.8 (auto)
all the rest on auto

thats the only setting i played with the rest is on AUTO!

is there something i missed?

For that overclock what you set should be fine with the others on auto. My question is... Why so high on the core voltage for 3.5 ghz. You should be able to either lower the vcore or increase the overclock if the temperatures are good.

i lowered the vcore to- 1.256
and is this enough voltage for a 4.0ghz?

You'll have to test for stability. Nehelam i7's sweet spot is usually 3.7 to 3.8. After that they need a lot more voltage to push 4.0 and beyond typically.

your stepping makes a difference also. If it's a DO and not a CO, 4.0 and maybe higher is realistic. CO stepping however, don't like going over 3.8 without a boat load of voltage.

i have D0 cpu and i changed speed to 4.0ghz!
vcore is on 1.256 and stable! and QPI on 1.225 dram on 1.64

77-83C on full load 60-63C on BF3

The BF3 temps are ok but you're getting a bit warm on the stress test side of things. Have you have time to find the lowest stable voltage. Maybe you have a good chip and it will run 4.0 with a little less voltage.

im on 1.256 vcore so its ok for 4.0
btw real temp shows-83C and HWmonitor shows 79C and below... who do i trust?

I forgot to add, now that you have a more aggressive OC, you might want to input more manual values. Say somewhere around 1.16 on the ioh setting, and set the pci,ich to default values manually, so the board doesn't throw too much voltage at them.

I like realtemp for core temps. If you want to check tcase, maybe speedfan. I honestly never check tcase temps so that's up to you

PCIE 1.5(AUTO)
QPI PLL 1.1(AUTO)
IOH CORE 1.1(AUTO)
ICH I/O 1.5(AUTO)
ICH CORE 1.1(AUTO)

its kinda confusing what to put on this settings

No I would manually set what I said above to stock except for the ioh voltage wich can use a little more. Experiment a little with it, obviously the lower the better. For my old i7 920 @ 3.8ish, ioh of 1.16 was plenty

Actually what the mobo has looks good so don't worry. some motherboards over volt some values. Looks like you can leave them on auto if you're stable. If not, add a little to the ioh voltage
