hi all
I have been OC my CPU and was wondering if my results sound ok and how much further I can push it.
208/11.5 @ 2400
vcore 1.75
ramm 2.7
After 3 hours of prime95 torture test my temps were
CPU 47c
Case 27c
3d mark03 6360

Abit NF7-S rev2
mobile 2500
512 crucial PC3200
WD caviar 120
BBA 9800pro 410/366
Chieftec case
Antec trueblue 480
4 silanX case fans

Temps and everything look good, espeically after a 3 hour test. You should be able to go a little farther, but every machine is different so you will just have to try and push it a little farther and see.

I have never gone past 1.8 volts on the core. I have read pretty much everywhere that the most you ever want to go with an XP chip is 1.8.

There are a few here on the board that say you can go 1.825 on mobile chips with good cooling.

In my opinion, I consider 1.8 the "safe" limit. I would go up to 1.8, it should allow you to go a little farther.

The Abit NF7 series is famous for undervolting the cpu. Use Motherboard Monitor 5 to check voltages. Many with this mobo would need to set BIOS to 1.85 or higher to actually reach 1.80 vcore.

Mobile XP 2600+ (11X200)

well iv tryed putting the vcore to 1.8 and the fsb to 113 but I just get errors in prime95.
but its solid as a rock at 110/11.5 @ 2.42 1.76

1.9v is the max on air. I'm running my XP2500@2.6 with just over 2v 24/7. I can run 2.7 stable too. The max I had was 2.2v 2.85ghz. Using DD D4, TDX, Thermochill 120.3. 😀

Add another 512mb of RAM.

Abit IS7 - 3.0C @ 3.6ghz - Mushkin PC4000 (2 X 512) - Sapphire 9800Pro - TT 420 watt Pure Power
Samsung 120gb ATA-100 - Maxtor 40gb ATA - 100
Sony DRU-510A - Yellowtail Merlot

if I was to get another 512 stick thats the same as the other one, could I just put it straight into my mobo
or would I need to reduce the overclocking of the CPU?
thanks Gwyn

No, just so long as it's the same stick or RAM as the other one, PC3200.

It will help.

You are going to see a huge jump and voltage req and temps when going past 2.4ghz
