I just attempted to change my multiplier setting .. I currently have an ASUS A7N8Xe-Deluxe and an AMD 2600+ .. I attempted to OC using an online guide.. Changed the Multiplier from 11.5 to 12 in the BIOS and when I went to restart the computer it wouldn't bring up and video or anything like that.. I tried to reset the CMOS on the mobo and took the battery out for a few minutes and then tried to boot the system up again and still no video or post screen.. anyone help me out with this situation please?

Use the CMOS reset jumper. Look in your mobo manual, and you should be able to find it. It also sounds as though you might not have taken the battery out for long enough (I usually take it out all night). After you have looked into these two things, get back to us.

If resetting the CMOS doesn't do the trick, power off the computer and pull the plug, then change the CPU FSB jumper to force a 200 FSB speed. Power up the computer and see if it boots. Once alive, power the computer back down, unplug and return the jumper to the 400 setting.

Sometimes on these nForce2 boards, they go into La La land when overclocking and this trick works to bring them back to reality.

Good luck.

usually, shorting two pins on the MB should bring back default CMOS settings. If that dosent work (it should), remove the battery, and leave it alone for 1 hr. Make sure that when you put the jumper on the two pins to short, leave it there for 5-6 seconds. Do not put it on and take it off immediately.
