yep - European standards also used in S. Korea strangely enough. Still remains in much of the old colonial areas to so I'm pretty sure (and I know someone will correct me if I'm wrong) that Australia and Singapore use E as well.

...and beyond, but they're not used much outside the lab.

However, DWDM products are finally filtering down to the public which allow speeds up to 45Gb/s over a single fiber strand. :cool:

By the way, can anyone remember what kind of connection they used in the movie 'Swordfish'? They had these three big trucks for their internet connection, and I'm thinking they said they were OC3 links, but I'm not sure.

Then there is OC-768 which is 40 gigabit. But it isn't widely available.

We're getting an OC-2 connection to an ISP down the street, and then they're gonna share out some bandwidth to us. The fiber was laid last week. Should be very nice when it's done :)

BTW, that's for where I work, not at home. lol
