Every now and then while playing audio or video, my computer will lag for 2-3 seconds while playing the last sound and holding down any key pressed when the lag starts. This has been going on for months with no known change that started it. When the problem occurs there is no spike in CPU use or RAM use, and occurs at all CPU temps (not overheating) Recently I ran Prime95 and after about 20 mins it crashed, so I looked at the minidump and it said that it was probably caused by GenuineIntel (stop 124). Things I've done to try and fix this:
Update&reinstall BIOS
Update Chipset
Update&reinstall Graphics Drivers
Update&reinstall CPU drivers
Update&reinstall sound drivers
Furmark diagnostic
3dmark free tests
Prime 95 (with a failure)
Memtest
Reset BIOS to default
Doublecheck there's no overclocking
So far nothing has worked, the problem is still happening. Here are my specs:
W7 64bit
Nvidia GeForce GTX 970
Intel i7-4790k
ASUS Z-97A
Corsair Force GT 120 Gb SSD
ST310005 24AS 1 tb HDD
If anyone can help me troubleshoot this it would be much appreciated!
