My buddy just recently purchased a pre-built pc from Newegg. It has a Gigabyte 1080 GPU , i7 6700 cpu, thermaltake 600 watt psu, 32gb (16x2 gb) of no name ddr4 2133 RAM and some asus micro-ATX motherboard ( not sure on the name but when I looked it up prior, it had poor ratings.) He's been having issues when he hits the windows button to minimize games like WoW or Diablo 3 and his system freezes for anywhere from 1-2 minutes and then continues. During that time he can't access any programs and is forced to wait. He didn't have this issue when he first got it, but after a month this all started. What might be the issue and how can we fix it?

Two immediate ways to diagnose and troubleshoot:

1) Open Task Manager and play as usual but keep an eye on the applications/processes/services etc. that are running and what amount of resources are being used by each. Look for one or more taking up lots of CPU time, memory, disk I/O.

Performance and Resource Monitors can provide additional information.

2) Open Event Viewer and look through the logs. You may find some error codes or warnings that occur just before or at the time of the freezing.

The immediate objective is not to fix the problem per se. Just identify some consistent pattern (that you can duplicate) and then seek some specific fixes.

Error codes and warnings will be very helpful. See what you can find and post...
