I currently have a P2 300 on my asus P2b MB running at 4.5x66
i figured since i just got 256mb of nice micron pc100 ram, i'd change the fsb to 100. my question is this: the manual to my MB has a replacement page for the page with jumper settings, and they've taken out the setting for 3.0x100. was there something wrong with this setting on this mb? also, is the cpu multiplier locked on a p2, or can i just change the jumpers on the mb to try 3.0 or 3.5 x 100? thanks

i set the jumpers for 3.5x100 and started getting wierd problems; sometimes on startup the video card wouldn't send any signal to the monitor, to turn off i had to hold the power button for 4 seconds, and it never made it as far as loading windows. so it's back to 4.5x66. i'll see about contacting asus to find why the 3.0x100 setting was taken out of the manual.

I had a PII 300 on an Asus P2B rev 1.02 for two years. It ran on 3x100 just fine all the time. 3.5x100 wasn't stable. You can get an updatet bios and manual directly from asus.com. The settings for 3x100 are :

fs0 fs1 fs2
*----*---*-| 1
*----*---*-| 2
0----0---0-| 3

*
* means closed

don't know if this helps ? i have an asus p2b rev 1.04 and at 133 fsb the pci bus will run at 33.3 mhz in spec but your agp wii run out of spec at 89 mhz but if it will boot and run at 2.5 X 133=333 this would be nice system speed overclock. double your fsb and only a 11%cpu overclock

Why don't you try a celeron (e.g. 633@950 Mhz) on a slocket ? Even older revisions of P2B provide 1.9 V core which is suitable with a good cooling fan (see Tom's article). I managed to boost my P2BS that way...
