I see people say mini's dont have as much OC potential as full size gpu's but could anyone help/ suggest a good and safe OC speed (using firestorm) for a zotac gtx 1070 mini and any other things to change when OCing it, thanks

Hi. I did many OC tests and played a lot with my zotac 1070 mini to get that "sweet spot" that PC Tailor said. As people says. Its pretty much up speeds a little bit and test with benchmarks to see if is stable. In my case for OC I tried Firestorm and MSI Afterburner. Getting better results with the first one. And benchmark/stability tests with Unigine Superposition and Valley.

I used Firestorm v2.0.0.020E at beggining. Got a pretty good and stable OC. Then I updated the Firestorm version and all screw up. Every time the PC starts freezes. With the same OC config. Then I roll back to 2.0.0.020E version and everything works perfect. Never got a crash or freeze in gaming or everything I tried. Was pretty weird so I obviously decided to...

There's no real 'sweet spot' for exact voltages / memory speeds to achieve from my experience. You simply need to test and trial it yourself.

Slowly bump up your memory speed in small increments, stop, test the stability of your system, if OK, repeat, until you hit a point that system stability is compromised, then just pull back to the last good settings.

You can eventually change voltages, but this is a different and more risky process entirely. You can view an entire guide on overclocking here: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/340404-33-wolfram-overclocking-guide

What are the signs of system instability?

You'll likely want to use software such as Furmark or Unigine Valley to test the GPU. Effectively, if you up the speed, run a stress test, then if you get any crashing or visual malformations (artifacts for example), then that is an unstable setting.

If you want a good guide that includes the testing part of the system, as well as voltage overclocking, it is here http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/faq/id-2749337/safe-gpu-overclocking-guide-2016.html

Was pretty weird so I obviously decided to keep that stable version with my best stable OC.

After that point. Setting GPU clock on 420mhz. I started to get arctifacts on Unigine Superposition. So i decided to keep it on 400mhz and MEM clock on 500mhz (pretty much enough). That setting and hours of testing with games and benchmarks with no arctifacts. And if you noticed. I didnt touch the voltage.

Superposition Benchmark 1080p High setting result: https://imgur.com/a/B2oOU

Unigine Valley Extreme HD setting result: https://imgur.com/a/XWPgb

Max clocks 2113/4504

My case is the IN WIN 301 micro ATX. So its really tiny and closed. Thats pretty much why my GPU hits 75C° on benchmark. The rest of my build is Intel Core i7 4770. Gigabyte Z87M-D3H. Kingston Hyperx Black Editon 8GB (2x4) DDR3 1600 and SSD Kingston HyperX Savage 480GB.

As many people says. This is pretty much a lottery. Some video cards (talking about exactly the same ones) can get better OC results than others. Im not sure if mine has a good OC because didnt got many information of OC results of this little ones. But im pretty happy and actually surprised with the final results. I think is a really good buy for the price to play always all maxed out and smooth on 1080p monitor.

Sorry if my english is not the best and I hope this can help a bit or at least give an idea of OC for this card.
