Hi, i'm just wondering if i could OC my AMD Phenom 965 to 4.5 with an Cooler Master Hyper212 Evo.
i can get 4.0 ghz with the stock cooler. Any opinions for the Cooler Master? is there a better one for 10 bucks more?

Now for the real deal :pt1cable:, I have an Club3D Hd 6670 GDDR5 but i have troubles OC'ing it.
after i put the core speed to 1000 and the memory speed to 800 i get artifacts. red dots all over the screen, the problem is that the red dots is the mem fould or MSI Afterburner. i'm using MSI Afterburner Extreme for overclocking.
The funny thing is that the stock mem speed is 1333 mhz  . But i want the core speed to 1000 mhz is there any way to do this?

odds are you won't make it that far (4.5GHz) with a 965BE, it doesn't matter the CPU cooling.
(stability issues)
not even under water..

my 980BE I had daily clocked to 4.2GHz and booted @ 4.4GHz for a CPU-Z screenie with a CM Hyper EVO.
but temps weren't the problem for going higher.

another strike against you is your motherboard, no offense but it's below par...
more specifically the VRM is only a 4+1 system, that equals overclocking FAIL.

4 + 1 Power Phase Design

your going to kill your GPU and trying to raise your RAM is not worth it.
get a better set of RAM like 1600MHz and set it to specs.
as for the HD 6670, good luck with that since it's not really a gaming card, what resolution.?

Thx for replying, ok so i can't get that far with the 965BE. as for the PPD...
i was on a tight budget 500 euro's (650 dollar). So i stay on 4.0 ghz but i will get the Cooler Master anyway.
as for my RAM it is 1600 Mhz but is there any way to put it on 1600? because the 965BE only supports 1333 Mhz right  ?

as for my HD 6670, i game on a 1360x760 and 1080 res.
it goes stock on 800 mhz. So no OC for my GPU, I'll get a HD6970 anyways.

conclusion: 4.2 OC, get a Cooler Master. And no oc for the GPU :( ... ( i read that someone had overclocked his HD 6670 to 1100 mhz and the mem on 1200 mhz.) :hello:

your missing the point about running faster RAM.
I'll try this again.

IT DOES NOT MATTER THAT THE CPU RUNS 1333MHZ BY DEFAULT.!!!
YOU CAN TELL THE MOTHERBOARD TO RUN RAM @ WHATEVER SPEED YOU CAN GET IT STABLE ON....
I ran 1866MHz with my AMD processor (980BE) so stop concerning about what you read about the CPU, it's about the motherboard....

1360 x 760 - HD 6670 doesn't need an overclock for that low of a resolution but for 1080P it will fall short regardless of settings.
