OC'ing an i7 7700k?

What have you guys been able to set the max GHz for overclocking this processor whilst still being stable?

hit 5ghz pretty easily

havent tried for any higher as not much point really

could probably shove another 100mhz/200mhz out of it but the performance gained compared to the extra heat isnt worth it in my opinion

Should I be fine on temps if I OC'd mine to 5ghz? Im cooling my cpu with an NZXT x52

Also, what other settings do I have to tweak to achieve this 5ghz overclock, just the ghz on the processor or I have to change voltage and such too?

they all overclock differently

and 7700k does run a bit warm

so although thats a decent cooler cant say 100% the temps would be fine

though theres a good chance they will

start off with a lower target and see the temps you get and keep working upwards checking temps as you go

no guarantee it will hit 5ghz--though havent seen what % of them do

multiplier and vcore

though again go easy with the vcore little bits at a time

dont just bang it right up

its just one of those things that feels good to achieve even if its not hugely faster than 4.8ghz/4.9ghz
