They're not saying it won't work. Just that it may not work. I don't see any harm in testing it. If it works, great! If not, at least you know.

A GTX 1050 will definitely come into issues when trying to play, wether its very low fps or freezes I strongly recommend upgrading your GPU to assure comfortable smooth and easy gameplay

Is there a way to bypass the error that you get when you open the app? I want to test it but the error blocks all functionality.

Not that I'm aware of. If a component lacks a specific instruction (like my old processor), you may not be able to test it out.
