Oculus announced that it is shipping the first round of final Rift hardware this week. Developers with games shipping in the first quarter of the year will receive the first kits, along with the 1.0 release of the software development kit.

I wouldn't count on that.
Palmer Luckey tweeted something to the effect of waiting a bit longer for pre-orders just a few weeks ago.
I hope i'm wrong.

I'm guessing its going to be tough to get your hands on a set come release date. But looking forward to when I can.
