OCZ 16GB DDR2 memory - are there any Intel motherboards that take it?

Are there any Intel motherboards that can take this ram? Looking at building a monster 64-bit system, Q9450, 16GB ram, maybe two ATI HD 4870x2 video cards, etc...

ideas?

A quick Newegg search shows that Intel P45, P43, G45, and Skulltrial all seem to support 16GB.

At the moment I can think of no reason a desktop user would need 16GB of RAM. Those modules are pretty darn expensive and I bet you would see no improvement over 8GB in home use. In a server setting you would, but not in a desktop.

I just priced out a system, using parts from newegg and amazon, and was able to build a monster for $1950. I didn't pull the triger on the purchase though.

Skulltrail wont take that RAM it only supports FBDDR2 so no chance on it working.

Not much of a reason to go for 16gb of ram in a gaming/home use PC. Save yourself a load of money and get 4 or 8gb if you must.

I was thinking about this as well.
For NOW, 8 gigs is the most ANY current app can use.
However, all software now is still 32bit based (even the 64 bit versions are the same basic code recompiled).
When TRUE 64bit apps start coming out, they may/must have the ability to address much more than 4 gigs. Then you need extra RAM on top of this for multi-tasking, disk-cashing, etc.
When this happens, 16gigs might start looking small. I am just not sure when this will happen yet.

try ram disk pro setup a 14 GB ram drive install any game and see why some (me one of them) want even 32 GB
