OCZ Fatal1ty VS. G.Skill PI Black

The G.Skills will be slightly faster than the OCZ's due to lower timings. Personally I would go with the G.Skills but make sure that there is enough clearance between the CPU cooler and the Ram slots.

What motherboard do you have? There might be better options at cheaper prices...

Either e7400/e7500 or e5200/e5300. If i'll buy the e7***, I cant afford to buy an aftermarket hsf anymore, so I'll be using the stock speed with the stock hsf. If e5***, there would be left for me to buy an aftermarket hsf and I would probably OC that.

I think I won't be OC'ing any of my hardware until I can afford to have the appropriate coolers. And I think oc'ing isnt necessary for now since I'm still using a 17" monitor. But ill be upgrading that to 19"/22" when I'll have the money.

If you don't have a CPU and your budget does not allow for a P55 platform then don't buy Intel. The P45 platform (Core2Duo and Core2 Quad) is a dead end and you will end-up having to upgrade sooner than later. You should be looking at AM3 platforms that will give you at least 3-4 years without having to upgrade.

What is your Total Budget for the CPU/MOBO/RAM ?

This is what you should be looking at :

Less than 280.00$ after rebates and you have a QUAD CORE CPU/DDR3 RAM/AM3 Motherboard vs. a slower CPU/slower RAM/OLD Motherboard ......

I agree. Using an LGA 775 chip in a new build doesn't make any sense when AMD offers higher performance for less money. An AMD build also uses current technology like DDR3 RAM and the AM3 socket. Core 2 lived a good life, but it's time to move on.

On the subject, the G.Skill RAM would be the obvious choice over the OCZ RAM. It not only has tighter timings, but it runs at 1.8v - 1.9v. The OCZ RAM requires 2.1v.

Forgot to mention I'm from philippines. Even though the equivalent of a dollar today is about 47 php, that doesn't mean that CPU you've mentioned ($99) is 4700 php here, it's alot expensive than you think it is. It's about frickin 5,500 php here! They order from abroad that's why they kinda overprice it here to compensate with the shipping fee. And those items above are too expensive for me sir :(

i have $680 on my paypal and the only the thing that's stopping me from buying at newegg is the shipping fee. I don't really know how much the shipping fee costs (from Canada to Philippines, Mindanao). I heard it's very expensive though but I havent confirmed it yet.

It's a website, it's like a local ebay or something hehe. Why ask? Ok i'll try finding those items now, but I'm pretty sure sir I can not afford the likes of the ddr3. My budget is reallt tight you know.

You might wanna know what I'm planning to buy (prices converted to USD):
mobo: p5ql pro/p5q se2 @ $100
cpu: e5300/e7500 @ $117
ram: g.skill pi black ddr 800 cl4 2x2gb @ $83
psu: fsp bluestorm II 500w (81% proven efficiency) @ $61
gpu: palit gtx 260 sonic 216sp 896mb @ $180.5
hdd: 500gb seagate @ $52

it's pretty expensive compared to newegg's items :(
