OCZ Platinum vs. OCZ SLI-Ready

Last night I placed an order on newegg for my new PC build. I chose a 4gb kit of OCZ SLI-Ready DDR2 800 memory for it but now I'm having doubts. I will be using a P43 motherboard so I will not be able to take advantage of the special Nvidia features like EPP. Today I noticed that newegg also has a 4gb kit of OCZ Platinum for about the same price ($4 cheaper actually). My question is, is there any difference between the OCZ Platinum and the OCZ SLI-Ready memories besides the fact that one has Nvidia settings built into it? Would I have been better off going with the Platinum or does it make no difference? Here are the links to the chips:

PC Specs:
ASRock P43Twins1600 mobo
C2D e7200
BFG 9600GT
160gb SATA HDD
Corsair 450VX PSU
OCZ 4gb SLI-Ready DDR2 800

Thanks in advance!

If they have already shipped don't return them. It will cost you more then $4 to sent them back.

No Difference at all except the heatspreader and the EPP. The SLI has a higher default voltage because at the tighter timings requires that extra voltage.

They actually both share the same timings and voltages.

BTW, how does the fatal1ty memory compare to the SLI and the Platinum?

Oh, I see what you mean. So stock for stock, they will perform exactly the same? Does the EEP 2.2V setting mean the SLI RAM is better for overclocking (although I do not plan on OC'ing)?

"SLI-READY" Title isnt an important thing, the most important thing is the RAMs timings,MHZ and voltages. Both of these RAMs have the same specs so go with the one which has a lower price.

Take a look @ this OCZ REAPERS RAM,they have better cooling and lower timings :D :

So basically Platinum, SLI-Ready, and fatal1ty are all the same thing but with different logos on the heat spreaders? That's pretty much what I assumed in the first place but I just wanted to clarify.

Reaper memory would be nice but this is kind of a budget build and I my total was already more than I wanted. I was trying to stay under $500 and ended up at $520 AFTER $110 worth of mail-in-rebates. I'm not a hard-core gamer so the lower end stuff should be plenty for me...I hope.

Your link is for the Reaper is $76, the SLI-Ready is $54. Looks like a $22 difference to me... Thanks for the help!

for what it's worth, i've had nothing but trouble with the OCZ platinum ddr2 800 4gb kits. I bought 2 kits and had to RMA both because of memtest errors. Got new ones, and have another bad stick. Not to mention, getting them to run at the rated speed is a pain in the ass.
