TIM - ocz freeze, tx-2, or mx-2

Scythe 110CFM slipstream or any fan performing better than the stock ones provided

which would have better temps? don't give biased answers

arctic silver 5 ftw :) im a fanboi and its not gonna change so dont flame me! not that you would if ur smart cos everyone knows how good AS5 is :)

yeah the diamond icarat or something... but im sure in the frostytech review or w/e it was that had like 60 TIM's the AS5 still came up on top closely followed by the OCZ freeze, but they didnt allow the AS5 its recommended 200 hours so i still believe inthe power of arctic silver!!

Xigmatek also has a HDT cooler with four heatpipes called the Achilles S1284, but according to the reviews it does not perform as good as the 1283. However, most tested units of the Achilles belong to first revision and because of the quite 'bad' results, Xigmatek went back to the drawing table and designed the second revision. The sad thing is that I cannot find any reviews on that one, because I'm really curious about it. Has any of you guys already found a report about them?
They should have hit the stores around 4 July

AS5 these days is pretty obsolete.

The best is probably the IC Diamond 24 Carat as you said. For the silver TIMs, TX-2 is technically the best right now, with OCZ Freeze coming in a close second I'd say. MX-2 is likely behind both of them. Really, AS5 is obsolete now (you can usually get other TIMs for the same price anyways). 200 hours is far too long a cure time.

AS5 is not obsolete

Are just two reviews that show there is not much difference between ocz freeze, mx-2, tx-2 and AS5. If you factor in margin of error, they can pretty much all be considered at the same level - note one review shows the tx2 better than the mx2, the other mx2 better than tx2,...both show the AS5 in between, margin of error and these are equal, the ozc freeze I have not found enough comparable reviews to say it is truly the best, but it is up there.

The same is true with the Vendetta 2 and the Xigmatek S1283, they are of similar design (The vendetta 2 a knockoff with a few design changes), the included fan spins a bit slower on the vendetta 2,... you will not see a huge difference between the 2 Heatsinks and if you include margin of error in reviews,....

I personally like madshrimps for this one (they have basically the same case as mine so it is a better comparison for me - remember setups can influence cooling effectiveness of a heatsink as well)

It shows the vendetta 2 a whopping .5 degrees cooler when similar fans are used and 1 degree on the following:

However the xigmatek S1283 is usually a good $10+ cheaper (depending on where you go and when) $17 diff on newegg (freeshipping and rebates included), which is more than enough to buy your TIM and a burger!
