Question Odd behavior with photos turning white the cause of a bigger problem?

This just began happening yesterday. I've linked a video in which you can see the problem happening for yourselves. Hoping this will allow someone to help me. My Samsung 970 m.2 is getting pretty warm. Not sure if this could be the cause. I'm restarted multiple times and done nothing else but click on photos and get the same result. It doesn't seem to be an issue anywhere else. Just when clicking on photos. My games are on the Intel m.2. This is also a pretty fresh install of Windows. Not only do they turn white but also take a bit to load for a simple image. Very strange on an m.2 and fresh install of Windows.

latest version of photos app? (you get it through the windows store update feature)
try rebuilding search index - https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/rebuilding-the-search-index-in-windows-vista/#:~:text=Open up the “Indexing Options,rebuilds the index from scratch.

Latest version of Windows and photo app. Tried rebuilding index. The thumbnail cache trick also doesn't work.
