I am putting together a second system. Specs are an i7-2600, 8gb ddr3 and a GTX 670. Everything works great, but the graphics card will not fill my 1080p monitor, even when the resolution is set to that. Originally I thought that it was a driver issue, so I made sure I had the correct ones. I then booted up and the same issue occurred. Then I restarted again and it did fill the monitor, but it was now very badly artifacting. I have absolutely no idea what's causing this, but I'm quite sure the GPU is not dead. It did the exact same thing in other PCs, but will run benchmarks for hours absolutely fine.

Can you post a screenshot/image of these artifacts ? Sounds like a GPU VRAM corruption issue. How OLD is the video card ?
