Odd Computer Noise in Witcher 2 Menu Only

Hello,

My computer is making a high frequency noise when in the Witcher 2 menu. If I switch between menu options (say move the cursor down to "load" or "options"), the pitch changes with my actions. Sometimes it gets higher, sometimes it gets lower. As soon as I run the actual game, the noise goes away.

Its a new build with an i74770k, GTX770, Corsair 750W PSU, Toshiba 1TB hard drive and a Samsung EVO 120GB SSD. I have a Cooler Master heat sync/cpu fan installed to reduce heat.

I tested this with other games and havent been able to recreate the noise anywhere else. My fears are hardware failure or that I f*cked something up when building the rig (leading to hardware failure).

Can anyone guesstimate what might be causing this? What tests should I run to diagnose?

Try a repair/reinstall, or check properties of your playback device and try changing the format around. These are just guesses basically that can't hurt to check.
