Odd headphone issue (Moto G4)

I've had a Moto G4 for a while with little to no issues, but recently my headphones are simply not being detected by the phone and playing audio through the built in speaker. They are plugging in fully and the headphone jack is clear. I've tested the headphones on other devices and different headphones on the phone and everything works fine.

Any ideas?

i own a moto g4 plus . with stock head phone i had this issue if i push headphone all the way in they won't work. they neede to be a mm out to work perfectly.
Now i am used to to this without realising.
