Hi everyone. I have a question about my computer's behavior and this seemed like a good place to ask. I've been building my own PCs for over 20 years, so I'm fairly well versed in how it's done, though this particular PC was not built by me. It is custom-built, but someone else built it.
Anyway, here's my issue. I've had this PC about 2 years now. Sometimes, from a cold boot, the PC will do the following....
Black screen....
POST splash screen...
Black screen....
(Monitor gives a "no signal" error)....
Black screen....
POST splash screen...
Boot into Windows 10 Pro
After the boot into Windows the PC works perfectly and never gives me any issues. But this happens about every 2nd or 3rd boot up from a powered off state. It does not happen if I tell W10 to restart.
Here are my specs:
AMD Ryzen 5 2600 (not overclocked)
MSI B350M Bazooka
32 GB DDR4
Zotac 2060 Super
C drive is a Silicon Power 500 GB SSD
D drive is a Samsung 970 Evo m.2 500 GB SSD
E drive is a Toshiba 500GB HDD
I should mention that on very rare occasions....maybe 3 or 4 times in 2 years, the PC wouldn't POST. I ended up having to leave it off for a while and come back, and then it booted. If I remember correctly I chalked this up to heat. I am an avid Flight Sim enthusiast, and our simulators tend to be very tough on hardware.
This doesn't seem to be a huge deal because once it boots it seems to work fine. But it is slightly annoying so I thought I'd ask here if anyone had any ideas on what would cause this?
Thanks in advance.
