Okay, before I Chuck this computer, I am going to ask.

I have a "HP Pav 570-p094" it has a AMD A-12 9800, 16gb memory and a 4tb mechanical drive. I did a clean install of windows and it works great except for these 2 things.

1. Once booted, the power button doesn't do anything. Windows settings are set that when the button is pressed to shutdown, but nothing happens. If I press and hold the system will go down hard.

2. After booting 30minutes- 2hours. The USB ports cease to function. They still provide power but the mouse and keyboard disconnect. I can hear the USB disconnect sound when it happens. After rebooting they work fine again.

Is this machine junk or am I missing something. I've updated the bios and all drivers I could. No change.

Solution
Sounds like something funky is going on with the power supply. Luckily, it's wired like a standard unit so you can replace it.

I would first try a known working power supply first and see if that fixes the issues. If it doesn't, then it's not the power supply.

And if you decide to chuck this thing, let me have it as it's about 5 generations newer than anything I have and I'll spend the time to figure out the issue.
