Question Odd micro-spike when gaming after reinstalling Windows ?

Hey all,

I had to reinstall Windows 11 on my PC and before doing so, games were running with no issues at all (Was on Windows 11 as well) however, after reinstalling and playing the regular games i always play and previously ran with no issues, there's now always a random micro spike that lasts for 0.5 milliseconds where the pointer of the mouse gets slow and the game sounds like it's being played in slowmo then it continues normally again. This keeps happening randomly when playing around every 30 to 45 mins or so while playing.

I didn't change anything in hardware, all is same, checked Task Manager while playing as well and when it happened, everything seems normal. CPU usage doesn't go past 40 to 60%, GPU is also at normal temps and usage is fine as well. Doesn't indicate anywhere that there are background apps that makes the usage higher or anything to make that spike happen

I read in some other subreddits that it can be a GPU Accelerator problem that should be disabled in Windows 11 if it happens, i found it enabled by default so I disabled it and tried to game again, same problem. Didn't solve anything.

Tried to uninstall my graphic drivers using DDU and reinstalled them. Same issue. Even tried to get the drivers that I had before reinstalling Windows 11 and installed them, same issue keeps happening.

Has anyone went through such thing? Is there a fix to this? Keep in mind again that this started to happen after having to reinstall Windows 11 as before reinstalling it games and Windows 11 ran just fine with no issues.

how did you reinstall windows?
was it overclocked before?
all drivers installed again?

run userbenchmark.com and post the link of the result

check windows integrity

Normal USB installation

No, i didn't have anything overclocked previously. Yes, i installed the latest drivers and when I saw that didn't make any difference I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled the versions i had originally before the reinstall. Same result

I'm starting to think it's probably Windows 11 23H2's Feature Enablement package or probably one of the Windows features that I just disabled (Had too many that I disabled), either way I uninstalled the Feature package and back on 22H2 that was from the USB installation and disabled these options, will check with games how it goes and keep the thread updated.

Edit: it was the Windows 11 23H2 Feature Update. Would like to mark this as resolved. Thanks!
