Odd things in registry

I recently had to dig into my registry to stop Chrome browser from auto launching at startup. While I was in the registry, I found some things that were written in Korean/ Japanese. that is hard to say for sure. I see three posibillities:
- Caused by malware infection.
- Registry is corrupted
- Some software have somehow used wrong text coding (less likely as installed software isn't supposed to store settings at that place).

thanks, at least i'll have a place to start looking. I don't think it would be software, i really don't have much other than games installed. Is there an easy way to learn what to look for to see if my registry is corrupted?

The original install was English. All of my games and apps are as well.

yes, and neither one showed any issues

That does not look like corruption. It looks like a valid registry entry from some app. Have you copied any text from those entries and translated (like with google translate)?

I ran it through google translate, from what it could figure out it was a mix of Japanese and Korean. It didn't give me much as far as an English translation (google translate is always so wonderful haha)

I recognize all of it. Not sure if it's relevant, but it is and MSI, which I'm finding has a HQ based out of Taiwan. Could this possibly be a cause, and it's just causing me to be over paranoid over nothing?

It is likely not an issue given the scans you have performed. It very well could by a MSI app/utility you installed.

Alright, thanks for the help. If it becomes an issue, i'll have to dig around to see if i can find what it actually is.

To check, uninstall MSI apps/utilities. Run tool like CCleaner to clean up registry and check if entries still exist.
