[SOLVED] Odd video issue in games

Hi,

Been seeing an odd issue that appears to be getting worse, see screenshot below. That is actually not bad, it gets much worse. Notice there are lines of what looks like mountain peaks. No idea what is causing this.

I have a GTX 1070 and wondering if it is on its way out? Only see it in games, no issues anywhere else.

Any ideas?

No, it does it on others, World of Warcraft, for example, shows the lines you can see above but not the peaks.

In fact I did have one point in WoW last night when it crashed and I never really caught the message, something about 3d restart of something.

Temps are low, I have really good cooling in the box.

I just ran Heaven benchmark which is perhaps more revealing.

Using OpenGL it runs fine but with some flashing boxes across the screen.
DirectX9 is still smooth but with lines across the screen I have seen in games.
DirectX11, won't even run, just crashes.

Yup, think its the card, I never get any issues when not gaming. WoW other than a few lines across the screen every now and then works fine, for others which appear to put the GPU under a different kind of stress causes it to fall over.

The images above from Raft get worse the higher I put the video quality and on the lowest, there are no issues at all.

Oh well, good excuse to look for a new card I guess, RTX 2060 or maybe even a 2080.
