Odd Xbox One S external hard drive issue

Hi there I put all my video and music files onto a 8tb Seagate external hard drive for media play on my Xbox One S and yes it detects the 8tb drive but says there is nothing on it whatsoever. But when I plug it into a PC it shows all the videos and music.... Anyone know what this is about?
