I opened up my HP Pavilion Elite (HPE 500y) to clean the dust from the fans. I noticed that my heatsink fan is upside down compared to every other heatsink fan i've seen and researched. This is the first time i've taken off the fan, so i know for sure it wasn't me. The only reason my theory might be wrong is because one of the sides of the piece extends down to latch down on the heatsink, so if I flip the fan the other way, one of the 4 walls extends up. I've attached a picture below.
Any experts know if my specific model has a 'reverse' fan or if manufacturer's just simply messed up? I've had this computer for 5 years...the only issue I now put 2 and 2 together is that during the summer time, I hear my processor working extremely hard and sometimes my computer gets the blue-screen.
