OEM or retail boxed

I'm looking to purchase an AMD 1.33 Ghz cpu. Currently there is around a $64 price difference (www.pricewatch.com) between an OEM version and a retail boxed version. Are the OEM versions more prone to failures than the retail boxed? I don't like only having a 10 or 20 day warranty on something I'm going to pay over $200 for.

I'm a geek just in disguise to look like a normal person.
