OEM OS thathas not been activated

When does an OEM operation system actually lose its transferability. I installed Win 7 on a homebuilt computer, it installed and worked fine; however, I did not activate. I then found that ASUS had never created Win 7 drivers for my motherboard (A8S-X), so now I need to go back to original Win XP. Have I lost the use of this OEM Windows 7?

If you didn't actually activate it you're fine. Once activated it's locked to that motherboard.

If you never put in the license key, it's still good, MS has no idea you installed it with the intent to activate it OEM until you put in the key, but like bubblehead said, once you use it, that's it for that key.
