office 2010 activation after hard drive replacement

I called Microsoft and they said it was oem software to call the oem

it was never activated thru oem - only thru Microsoft - also purchased over 2 yrs ago/ it is a valid dvd with hologram and I have the key

If you have the DVD and the license key, what is the issue?
Reinstall and activate.
