office 2013 on win 10

Can anyone tell me if office 2013 is likely to work on win 10 ??? Trying to get mother in law on internet (83 yr old) and she doesnt want to fork out cash every year fo office, for the little use she will get out of it, but still wants office to manage her finances and send letters to taxman etc.. (does OK on old XP at the moment) We are looking at a laptop that already has win 8.1 on it and would upgrade her (free ?) to win 10 when we upgrade our own PC's later this year

Have you looked at libre office?
It has all of the core features of office and is free.

What about open office instead of Ms office

You should be able to open word or excel files in open office/ libre office
If you have problems with reading docx or xlsx try old doc & xls format
