We have a NEW computer we want to install one of our beaucoup copies of Office 2016. As the machine has no optical drive (not my decision by a long shot) we copied the CD to a USB stick. When we try to install it we get a Click to Run error message because we supposedly have Office 2016 already installed as well as Office 365. We didn't have this problem when we installed Office 2013, which also supposedly uses click to ruin as part of it. I looked at the articles at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/uninstall-office-from-a-pc-9dd49b83-264a-477a-8fcc-2fdf5dbf61d8 and https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/click-to-run-error/08ddaa1a-f201-48f7-bf59-f019003051c7 but that seems like a way too much rigamarole for a simple install. We already used Uninstall Apps and Disk Clean in Win10 but to no avail. Is there a simple way to overcome this idiocy?
