Office Assistant

All of a sudden I am getting a message when I try to open any MS Office
programs. (i.e. Excel, Word). It tells me there are no Office Assistant
character files found please run set up in maintenance mode and install at
least one of them.
I have tried this and I can seem to get any files to install.
