Hey guys,
This is my first post here. From what I have read, this looks like a very helpful place. I have used the Charts on Tom's Hardware forever...
I haven't been keeping up with all the 'Intel vs AMD' and 'PCI-x vs PCI-x 2.0' etc... So I thought I would ask your advice.
My goal is to replace my office PC with something that will last (be upgradeable), run Office, multitask, play pandora, play videos on and offline, and be reasonable in cost. With a little gaming here and there. I will connect it to my HP w2207h monitor (RGB and HDMI connections). Have option to add GPU in the future. I will need to add ram and a new PSU as well. I'd like to stick to Micro-ATX for a smaller footprint.
I have a case, HDDs and Vista Premium.
I spec'd out a few options, a cheap and expensive option (2 CPUs and 2 MBs) for both AMD and Intel.
Most of the MBs I picked have onboard HDMI I could connect to my monitor. If I go with the cheap option I could upgrade at a later date as prices fall.
