I removed a q.com email account from outlook 2016 but the inbox, Drafts, sent items etc. still show up when i launch Outlook?

you mean the folder? or individual email?

When I looked at my outlook inbox for my q.com account there were no file visible. If I search for something the messages show up it’s like there hidden. So, I thought that I could remove the q.com and add it back in but I can’t. I suspect that I cannot add it back because it thinks that it already exists - so bought a new version of office and I see the same thing. I uninstalled office 2016 and bought office 2019 thinking that if I uninstall 2016 and install 2019 that I would be able to add both my q.com and gmail.com accounts but when I launch Outlook 2019 it comes up with the gmail account working and I still cannot add the q.com account

using the latest settings from them? smtp.q.com or mail.q.com
try login thru the web to see if your account still valid?
what the exact error message when you try to add the account?

The other day after doing some stuff on my computer I looked at outlook and the inbox was selected for my q.com account but there were no files visible. If I search for something the messages show up it’s like there hidden. So, I thought that I could remove the q.com and add it back in but I can’t so that so I bought a new version of office and I see the same thing. With the new installation of office 2019 I now cannot add my CenturyLink (q.com) account but that email shows up in outlook and the inbox is still empty but I can still search for something and the message show up. I tried the ‘Microsoft Support and Recover Assistant’ to attempt to completely remove office 2019 and start again but it didn’t work. I see the same symptoms after installing office 2019 again.
