I am working in GTMO - Guantanamo Bay Cuba for the next year or more and I am looking for some suggestions on games that require little or no online connection. I can play Diablo 3 but with major rubber-banding, disconnects 80% of the time the connection here is very up and down this is my best Speedtest:
http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3057331287 and at .50mb/s is nearly double the average of .27mb/s I normally get. Think even a bad dialup speed on what is being called DSL here with 675 - 1200 latency!
So trying to avoid throwing the computer out the window I am looking for some suggestions.
I have Darksiders II, Diablo 3, and Skyrim <-------= and hate the First person view) NFS Carbon, Black, Most wanted. I loved the need for speed series but have played through them so many times that I cant seem to get into it.
I actually liked Darksiders but am growing tired of it. I have Assassins Creed II and it was ok, didn't get into the controls for some reason and it just seemed clunky and cumbersome.
What do you guys suggest?

If you want my personal favourites, get the Oddboxx from steam, that is kind of a assortment of games, all which are good, especially Munches Oddysee and Strangers Wrath.
Some Warcraft, maybe some Civ V. Both of which are stratagy games.
Some other greats are fallout 3 and new vegas, Fable, and perhaps even Tomb Raider. All open world games.
Those are my suggestions, I like all of them and I hope you will like the ones you decide to get aswell. Take a look at the Oddboxx trailers, you might like it.

It woudl probably be a good idea to say what type of games you like to play and whats the specs of your laptop/PC.

Also may need to tell us where you play to get the games we suggest if your already in GTMO with your internet connection DLing may not be an option.

I have an Asus G-73 with a few mods, upgrades, and overclocking. I like action, adventure, 3rd person open world type games.
I dont like 1st person as much and not a fan of some of the shooters.....walk into dark room shoot monster in your face....turn corner shoot monster in your face.....turn next corner shoot monster in your face.
Some of the ported to PC games are just clunky in the controls department.
I just dont want to buy a game spend countless hours updating it and find out I have to be online to play.

Thanks I will give those a try, coming home for Thanksgiving so I will download and update/patch then!
