Offline printer problem

My HP Photosmart C6150 printer is hooked up to our computers via wireless connection to the Linksys router. After adding the printer to either of our Windows 7 computers, we can only print for about 24 hours before the printer goes offline and will not print any documents in queue. How do I make it so the printer stays connected to the computer for more than a day or so? Here's the specs of our computers:

Computer 1 (my mom's computer):

Even though this thread was back in May 2010 and it is now December 2010, I wanted to thank you for your answer. This is the only thing that worked! Even using a static address didn't work for me. This solution is so simple, it seems ridiculous that no one else offered this suggestion. Thanks again.

I had a similar problem with a Canon printer on a Windows 7 PC. The printer was setup locally using a static IP. I added the Printer IP port to point to the printer IP. I then noticed it would go offline after a while.

The fix was to go into Devices and Printers,
selected the Canon Printer that was giving me grief,
right clicked went to Printer Properties,
then the ports tab, Configure Port button
and unchecked the SNMP Status Enabled box,
clicked OK,
and the printer works fine now.

Hi Penster, worked flawless.
I have an d-link dir-320 and an HP-880C networked by usb port. Windows 7 only printed after reboot or restart the printer service, with the 882C driver. After unchecked the SNMP Status Enabled, worked in every windows 7 PC.

Go to start,devices and printers,right click on the shared printer and select printer properties,then select the advanced tab,and select always available.

While searching on the net for an answer to the problem that my Canon Pixma MP560 always appeared to be offline, I stumbled onto this site. When I saw your recommendation I tried it. I found that (I don't know how) there was a copy of the printer under the device tab, and apparently it was this copy that my computer was referring to as my default printer! I deleted the copy, then chose the original Canon Pixma MP560 as my default printer. Now I don't have anymore problems when I need to print.
