Oh come the HELL on man!

Just finished building my PC and well... it aint workin.

ASUS P8Z68-V Pro
i7-2600k
Zotac GTX 580
8GB G.Skill Sniper Series RAM DDR3 1600
NZXT HALE90 1000W PSU


I may be missing a power connection. This is an out of case test run. I have only 3 power cables connecting:
1) PCI-X to the GPU
2) ATX connector to the mobo itself
3) A cable called "CPU2" connected to "EATX12V" on the mobo
- The PSU still has a cable called "CPU1" not connected; cannot seem to find where it should connect, if it should.

I am connecting through the VGA line on the mobo to a monitor. When I turn on the power button, the CPU led flashes. Then the RAM led flashes. Then the VGA led. Finally the "Boot disk" led stays lit up. I connected my SSD, and it went away; still NOTHING on my screen though. Tested the monitor, works fine. Changed the "CPU2" wire to the "CPU1" and still no difference.

I am unable to connect through HDMI neither on the board nor the video card, unless I set everything up again. Which I am willing to if there is no other explanation here.

Let me guess, cpu1 and cpu2 fit together for an 8pin block? you missed cpu1 out, which if you only use a 4pin block should be the one plugged in? 😛

Nope. The VGA outlet on the mobo just wasn't showing video for whatever reason. It could mean something is up with the board, we will see. I connected to the GFX card using DVI and it posted.

If you had the gfx card installed it may have disabled the onboard port to the level it didn't function at all, glad you got sorted though man
