My computer has been down for a while due to a bad GPU. I finally got the replacement, now the damn thing won't load the operating system properly. I'm able to monkey about in the BIOS, I'm able to see POST, however, directly after the POST screen, it will say "Detecting drive; done. No drive found". It will then have go to a screen with a blinking cursor and nothing more will happen. I can't boot from a CD either. Same thing- after POST, a perpetually blinking cursor.
Thanks to a spare computer, I know for sure that the HDD is fine, as is the new GPU. I'm able to see that the HDD is recognized in the BIOS.
The only thing I've changed besides getting a new GPU is I've cleared the CMOS. I'm absolutely baffled.
