Oh please don't say I got the wrong motherboard :(

Hello everyone, today I had a motherboard arrive in the post from Aria PC:

I am a new pc builder and saw this took ddr4-2133mhz ram on pcpartpicker and on Aria PC's website. However when it arrived today I saw it plastered in 'DDR3' and the specifications on the back only say it takes 2 channel ddr3 memory Did I mess up with a stupid mistake?

No, you should be ok.

To double check look through the manual that came with the motherboard. In the memory section it will list ALL of the RAM the motherboard can handle. Don't just go by a sticker on the outside of the box.

2 Channel just means that your RAM will work best when installed in pairs. You can see how two of the four RAM slots on your motherboard have the same color, that is the pairing of 2 RAM slots you should you at any one time. You can certainly use all 4 of the RAM slots.

Thx for the reassurance, I didn't want to open it to find it to take the wrong type of memory and be stuck with the wrong motherboard

It could be that you bought the ddr3 version, but it's not a big ofa deal since ram speed doesn't make a great difference. just get 2133 ddr3 ram and you'll be fine

Only you know if you got the wrong motherboard. The motherboard you link to is DDR4, but you never say what board you actually got in the mail. Look at your order, and compare it to what you got in the mail and make sure they match.

No, I've already bought 8gb ddr4 u see and I have an i5 6600k

Open the box and check the manual. It will tell you exactly what RAM you can use with the motherboard.

If the manual says it only supports DDR3L you will, i'm afraid, need to either send the board or the RAM back.

Oh phew what a noob, in the manual it says the four ddr4 memory sockets are divided into two channels and each channel has two memory sockets as following:
Channel A: DDR4_2,DDR4_4
