Today I accidentally spilled a small amount of olive oil on my Razer Black Widow on the bottom left (CTRL ALT key region). I removed the keys and wiped the oil as well as I could. At first I didn't see a problem but later on I noticed the ctrl key acting as pressed although the key was not snd after that, the led light on my shift key stopped working. The CTRL ALT and WIN keys also dont make that much clicking noise meaning that a small portion of oil made it under the keyboard. I have already unpullged the keyboard, took out all keys, wiped the keyboard with cotton smeared with alcohol and I turned the keyboard face down. Is there any way to reverse the damage I did? Should I just wait for a few hours and plug it back in to see if anything changed? Some people said that soaking it in water and letting it dry for a week can help but is that really a safe thing to do on a mechanical keyboard?

Solution
You need to take it apart completely, and wash it.
Actually, doing this in a dishwasher works quite well.

Lacking a dishwasher, a bucket and spray water+soap.

I am actually thinking of waiting half a day and testing the keyboard again and then move on the washing it. Is it possible that delaying washing make the damage worse or irreversible?

All that is doing is letting the liquid portion evaporate, and leave behind whatever solids are in there.
Might make the eventual real cleaning harder.

In any case, do not power it on again until it is clean.
