Im finally upgrading from my old i5-760. It'll be only for gaming and there looks like 7700K wins but I want it for future-proofing too because well, just look how much time I kept my i5. I've saw other theads and some people says that look what happened with old 2 Cores and new 4 Cores (nehalem iirc) that at first those 2 Cores were winning in games. But if thats so wouldn't the i7-7700K still win in games because of 8 threads?(if when games uses 8 Cores like past 2 Cores to Quad cores).

Here are my two builds:

Yeah just pick something 2666 or above. Gaming wise there isn't much difference. I've had a hand in a 1700x build that reached 3000 MHz actually ran an oc to 3200 on the ram but it was a x370 board. Don't know if it's hit or miss or what the deal is. Usually bios updates can help ram out a lot. I suspect that will be the case here.

I have a curved 60 hz 1080p monitor and Im not chaning it in the near future as I just bought it so yeah 60hz.
But is really the ryzen more future proof ? I mean if now there is 100 fps in Ryzen and 130 fps in i7, future games will be like 40 fps Ryzen and 70 fps i7?)

Oh i see then Im all for the future-proof. About the RAM will matter a lot like from 2600 to 3000? From what I saw theres issues with the RAM running at 2666 MHz whatever you buy, unless you buy the specifics QVL, thing Im not doing cos they cheapest 3200 compatible is 176€ (or buying X370 mobo) and that goes beyond my budget, so im buying that 3200 MHz RAM and well at least will be 2666 MHz
