Ok i have to reinstall my games? help

i have 2 harddrives both sata. 1 for windows and the 2nd i install my games to. now i just reinstalled windows, a clean wipe of my c drive. and to my surprise my games dont work. apparently i need to reinstall them to the 2nd harddrive again?? why? i thought 100% i could save myself the time and effort of installing games again. am i doing something wrong? do i need to make a partition of some kind? very disapointed

It is because every install needs to write to the windows registry, a way past this would have been repair install but now to late. If you install them all to the same location as before all the install has to do is write to the registry!

In theory you could backup the registry entries after installing the game... then import them if you ever had to recover again. But yeah diablo34life is correct. SOME games you can backup without worrying about what is written to the directory (for example, I've done this with most Steam games) but the majority require you backup these registry settings.
