[SOLVED] ok recently my front fan had two of the fin break off

i did make it blanced by breaking the ones opposite off my system has no spining drives in it so would that fan need repleced soon or could i wait a couple months

For noise reduction, fans almost always have an odd number of blades.
If one is gone, replace the fan. You cannot balance it.

Yes.
The imbalance will cause the bearings to fail fairly soon. Whether that is hours or days or weeks....unknown.

Must be some shoddy fan. Never EVER heard of fan blades breaking, unless the bird strike kind.

I actually had a fan blade break once. It was over 40 years ago, in a Mercedes 190C made 1962. However that fan was was about 400 mm and made from aluminium.

i had a drive lossley siting in there and i moved the system after i botted it again the harddrive had moved into the fan and after i turned on the pc it broke



the fan was a nice one by thermaltake
