I just found out that Samsung uses a technology in LCD's called PVA, Patterened Vertical Alignment. I was wondering what exactly it does in terms of its specs, and I was wondering how it fairs against MVA. If you have any answers, would appreciate it. Thanks.

PVA is Samsung's answer to Fujitsu MVA. Basically the same concept, of using multiple domains to increase the viewing angles. Mono domain LCDs always suffer from some amount of color variation when viewed at an angle. Expect to see more and more multiple domain LCD panels in the future.

Yeah, but is there an advantage over MVA if you go with PVA???

and Viewsonic claims 170º with their version anyway. And regardless of who is telling the truth (or not) does 10º way out there make real value? Not for me.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice; In practice, there is.
