...and I thought I was being so smart. Okay...how do I recover from the black screen of death on bootup? I cannot get into my bios to reset my FSB or multiplier. Any way to get these numbers back to their default? I heard that holding down some key will allow you to do this at boot up. Or do i need to clear my cmos to reset the system?

Im using a kg-7 raid mobo.

Thanks for your help and not laughing.

If the above doesn't work, then clear CMOS.

 Good or Bad have no meaning at all, depends on what your point of view is.

He is right, my mobo has a jumper to reset the cmos, whenever I over do my FSB and it doesn't boot, I just move this jumper to reset cmos, and viola, back to spec. Check your mobo manual on how to reset cmos.

Hold down the Insert key while booting up. That should do it. If not, try to reset a couple of times, one after the other. If all fail, reset the CMOS.

Oh, by the way, there is a great source for all your answers. Its called something like "Users Manual". You might try to read that as well...

I ain't tryn' to be a smarta**, just kidding :) :) :)

it often takes 2 or 3 resets for the insert key trick to work, though it diws do the job, as mentioned- the mobo manulis three for a reason
