MB : MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI

PSU : CORSAIR RM850x 850 WATX80 Plus Gold

GPU : Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 7800 XT

CPU : Ryzen 7 7800x3d

RAM : KINGSTON DDR5 16GB 6000MHz CL32 DIMM FURY Renegade White XMP x2

STORAGE : 1TB SAMSUNG 980 PRO

COOLER : Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360 ARGB

CASE : NZXT H7 Flow RGB black

Fans : Arctic P14 PWM PST A-RGB (Black) 0dB, 14cm, 4 pin 3x

As far as i know i need to update BIOS for this mb in order to support 7800x3d cpu,im still a little bit not sure should i get 4070 or 7800 and should i take this AIO cooler or air cooler.AIO coolers look good but people say it doesnt last too long unlike air coolers which are not that good looking.

Hey there,

Very nice build. Not much I'd change other than personal preference for certain hardware. All in all, will be a great 1440p max out, and 4k with good settings and solid 60fps system.

Thanks, what do you think about going to air cooler with something like Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120SE or if there's something better

Ha! I was only after reading the review on Tom's for the Phantom Spirit 12 SE. And it's excellent. As good at cooling as the Arcte Liquid, no. The Spirit 120 is damn good though. And by far the best air solution for noise, price and performance.

After going AIO on my current build, I just don't think I could go back to air cooling, with it's huge footprint, and which can increase the heat inside the chassis depending on the orientation. There are pro's to each type of cooling.

Do not worry about bios support.
New motherboard stock will include the latest available bios at manufacture time.
And, the motherboard has a bios flashback feature.
As to aio vs. air cooling, I do not like aio unless an air cooler will not do the job.
Your processor is not unusually hot.
Noctua has a list of what it thinks are suitable coolers for the 7800X3d:
https://ncc.noctua.at/cpus/model/AMD-Ryzen-7-7800X3D-1649

AIO coolers do not last forever. The pump, being a mechanical device can fail or get clogged.
In time air permeates the tubes and the unit needs to be replaced.
Plan on perhaps 5 years.

As to 4070 vs. 7800, they perform comparably. I suggest you stick with what you are using now; either nvidia or radeon
The driver environment is different and takes some getting used to.

Few thoughts on your build:

You can definitely go with Phantom spirit and save some cash.

You might be overspending with the H7 flow. cheaper options are available.

Go with an ATX 3.0 PSU like the RMe 2023 model.

you also have TT GF3, be quiet pure power 12, MSI A850GL...

i would suggest you to go for a 2tb drive. You dont need the pro series samsung drive.

depending on your monitor resolution, you might want to consider between the 4070 super and the 7800XT.

I will actually go with Phantom Spirit. As far as i know Corsair RM850X is ATX 3.0 and after some reading all these PSU are more or less the same,i might be wrong.

Why do you think im overspending with H7 flow ? if there is something cheaper but better i would appreciate if you tell me

For my needs i think 1tb is more than enough, why not pro series ?

Thanks
